"WHATS IN A NAME? A BRAND RECOGNITION SIR?

The Shiv Sainiks are on a warpath to change anything with the word "BOMBAY" into "Mumbai" in the state of Maharashtra.Are we Indians going the way of the U.S.S.R? Bombay , the city has been changed to Mumbai, pleasing the majority population as with Calcutta to Kolkotta , Bangalore to Bangloora and Madras to Chennai, naming the main metropolitan city's of India. Changing "BUSINESS AND EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION" names which have been in existence for decades and in some instances even a century is a clear case of petty politics missing the larger canvas, a "TRADE BRAND".
"The Bombay Natural History society" has been in existence since 1883 as a "Wild-life awareness and conservation society" with international and national members and changing its name to "Mumbai Natural History society" would make it look a "REGIONAL SOCIETY" hence people from other parts of India would avoid becoming members , preferring their own local "Wildlife organisations".
The "Bombay Cat", a breed of cats developed by "Cat Fanciers"in America in 1976 has popularised the "Bombay trade Brand" in the animal world and hope there is no attempts to change its name to "Mumbai cat".
I have discussed only the topics on "WILD-LIFE CONSERVATION" and pets and not "BUSINESS LOGO'S"since this subject interests me as well as the "THACKERAY'S" who are wild-life enthusiasts as well as pet owners.
At present India and the world are undergoing a "Terrorist Revolution" and its time that political leaders pay attention to this phenomenon rather than waste time and energy on linguistic differences .
