"Dancing Bar Girls" were banned in Maharashtra followed by other states on reasons of "IMMORALITY" which was partially true as most "DANCE BARS" were "Elite pick-up joints" in disguise.
"Sports Cheer Girls" are a Western phenomenon and are basically a "Side-Show" to a particular sport and no sane fan would be visiting a stadium just to oogle at the "Cheerleader girls" unlike "Dance bar girls".
Stating that the "Cheer Leader girls" of "20/20 cricket" are corrupting Indian society and the sport of "Cricket" is as weird as accusations that Hindi movies and telivision are the reasons for excessive crimes and rapes in the Country.
Sports along with society has evolved over generations and "Cricket" is definitely not the same sport played in the 1940's, both in terms of revenue earned and its fan base.
Instead of banning the "Cheer Leader showgirls" it would be better to train and employ some of our best "Dance Bar girls" as "Cheer leaders", an employment in an alternate decent profession.
